Gamelan is a Javanese traditional musical instrument, usually used as a staging puppet accompaniment (both shadow puppets and humans). Aside from being a puppet accompaniment as well as a companion song campursari, ludruk, the latest one is introduced to opera van java (which aired on one of the private television). Gamelan is a musical instrument with pentatonic melodies, the orchestra has approximately 15 instruments. Among them engkuk Instrument, kemong, xylophone, drums, gongs, bonang, demung, saron, klethung, slenthem, and so forth. Gamelan industry is done with traditional tools, but the results are pretty awesome. The results of this industry was exported to several countries in continental Europe, although it is now being discontinued, but we strive for repeat and be able to surpass the golden age. Centralized handicraft business is contained in Kauman, Karangrejo + / - 14 km east of town Magetan.

Exotic Natural Atmosphere in Magetan, East Java, Indonesia
Where you confused want on holiday and where? Do not worry, lake sarangan the answer. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to feel the atmosphere of exotic nature, anyone who wants to unwind because of busy work or school, and for anyone who wants refreshing. Sarangan also known as sand lake is a natural lake located at the foot of Mount Lawu, in District Plaosan, Magetan, East Java. Located about 16 kilometers west of the city of Magetan. This lake covers about 30 acres and a depth of 28 meters. With temperatures between 18° and 25° Celsius. The water in lake comes from the flow of the river from the top of the mountain. In the middle of the lake there is a small island filled with trees. Telaga is able to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Sarangan a the mainstay tourism in Magetan. Around the lake there are 2 five-star hotels, 43 hotels jasmine class, and 18 cottage. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful Sarangan by riding around the lake, driving a fast boat, rent a boat and rickshaws for exploring lake's water. There are 51 motor boats and 13 rickshaws water that can be used. Other tourist facilities were available, such as a restaurant, a playground, the tourist market, villa, parking, public telephone facilities, places of worship, and parks. To enjoy the lake, visitors are not charged admission. As for the riding fare, visitors to spend money of 2-5 USD only and motorboat enough to pay 15-20 USD for 4 people. Not only that, there is a wonderful view that is emitted by the vegetable plantations around the lake. Visitors can also hike to the waterfall, located about 3 km from the Sarangan lake.
The presence of 19 restaurants around the lake makes the visitors have many alternative options menu. Similarly, the presence of street traders offering a variety of souvenirs have provide convenience to visitors to buy souvenirs for relatives. Specialties who peddled around the lake is a rabbit satay.
Magetan also helped by the potential for small local industry capable of producing handicrafts for souvenirs, such as bamboo woven, leather craft, craft shoes, and typical food products such as chips and slabs (puli crackers, the crackers of rice). Product is exactly what can be taken home to be used as souvenirs.
In addition there is an important annual event held in this Sarangan, including anchoring ritual offering on Friday Pon Ruwah month, in mid-year school holidays, Ledug Sura 1 Muharram, and fireworks on the New Year Night.
